Manipulator Performance Measures - A Comprehensive Literature Survey
نویسندگان
چکیده
Performance measures are quintessential to the design, synthesis, study and application of robotic manipulators. Numerous performance measures have been defined to study the performance and behavior of manipulators since the early days of robotics; some more widely accepted than others, but their real significance and limitations have not always been well understood. The aim of this survey is to review the definition, classification, scope, and limitations of some of the widely used performance measures. This work provides an extensive bibliography that can be of help to researchers interested in studying and evaluating the performance and behavior of robotic manipulators. Finally, a few recommendations are proposed based on the review so that the most commonly noticed limitations can be avoided when new performance measures are proposed.

Survey of Research for Performance Measurement of Mobile Manipulators
This survey provides the basis for developing research in the area of mobile manipulator performance measurement, an area that has relatively few research articles when compared to other mobile manipulator research areas. The survey provides a literature review of mobile manipulator research with examples of experimental applications. The survey also provides an extensive list of planning and c...
متن کاملKinematic Performance Measures and Optimization of Parallel Kinematics Manipulators: A Brief Review
This chapter covers a number of kinematic performance indices that are instrumental in designing parallel kinematics manipulators. These indices can be used selectively based on manipulator requirements and functionality. This would provide the very practical tool for designers to approach their needs in a very comprehensive fashion. Nevertheless, most applications require a more composite set ...
متن کاملNeural Networks in Electric Load Forecasting:A Comprehensive Survey
Review and classification of electric load forecasting (LF) techniques based on artificial neuralnetworks (ANN) is presented. A basic ANNs architectures used in LF reviewed. A wide range of ANNoriented applications for forecasting are given in the literature. These are classified into five groups:(1) ANNs in short-term LF, (2) ANNs in mid-term LF, (3) ANNs in long-term LF, (4) Hybrid ANNs inLF,...
متن کاملEmergency department quality: an analysis of existing pediatric measures.
OBJECTIVES The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has recommended the development of national standards for the measurement of emergency care performance. The authors undertook this study with the goals of enumerating and categorizing existing performance measures relevant to pediatric emergency care. METHODS Potential performance measures were identified through a survey of 1) the peer-reviewed lit...
متن کامل3-RPS Parallel Manipulator Dynamical Modelling and Control Based on SMC and FL Methods
In this paper, a dynamical model-based SMC (Sliding Mode Control) is proposed fortrajectory tracking of a 3-RPS (Revolute, Prismatic, Spherical) parallel manipulator. With ignoring smallinertial effects of all legs and joints compared with those of the end-effector of 3-RPS, the dynamical model ofthe manipulator is developed based on Lagrange method. By removing the unknown Lagrange multipliers...
